The author of this story was another passenger who witnessed the entire conflict unfold first-hand. Once the entitled dude realized he wasted a ton of money on an extra seat that he would have already had, he called the flight attendant over and even had the audacity to try and blame the gate agent for what happened. The flight had not taken off yet, so when the flight attendant contacted said gate agent, she confirmed that this whole “miscommunication” was a result of the passenger's disagreeable temperament.
